Of Yogis and Miracles

Good that I have started writing again .My last few years have been spent in pursuit ..of a dream so much so that I didn’t give myself any time …I guess it is time to sit back and relax for a while and be at a little ease .I see myself writing and reading a lot more often now and I am happy about that . These are certain things that I love doing.
Of Yogis…..
They say to have a GURU is a great bliss and the relationship is carried on for many lifetimes . A true GURU while accepting a disciple takes lot of onus upon himself . I grew in a family that followed a Yogi and it was but natural only that I would accept him as my GURU as well. A more insightful thought is that I was born into the family only because of my association with the Yogi.
A little bit about my GURU…Yogi Raushan Nath Ji..
Yogis are typically followers of Lord Shiva . They meditate for hours at length . Spirtitual body according to them has seven chakras and any Yogi’s aspiration is to mediate and do TAPAH and take his spirtitual level from the bottom of the spine to the forehead , in between the two eyes . The stage is called Kundalini awakening and is supposed to be the highest stage of spiritual growth for a Yogi. A Yogi at this stage has flawless energy , his face radiates with vitality and life and he is one with God himself. Yogi Raushan Nath ji was one such GURU. His own guru , whom we call BAWAJI was supposed to have lived on the earth for around 300 Years .. Such Yogis are called ‘Siddha Purusha’ . They can come and leave the earth at will.
Having born and bought up in such environment , it was natural for us to believe that miracles do happen and we have never questioned the feasibility of anyone living for 300 years or anyone coming and leaving the earth at will . Infact Bawaji , Nathji and Nathij’s wife , Monama had correctly predicted the date when they would take Samadhi. Monama chose the same date as Nathji did. And these are some of the instances ..some very minor… fascinating isn’t it ..the beautiful world of Yogis.
Nathji has written many books and there are many interesting reads. ‘From Darkness to Light, New Dimenions of Yoga’…are some of the books that He has written.

Another Yogi that I have read about is ‘Paramahansa Yogananda, who has a very famous autobiography as well. Paramhansa, body is supposed to have exhibited the same vibrancy many days after his death as would have been the case when he was alive. He could also coexist simultaneously at two place. Fascinating …
I have been listening to bhajans since childhood and some of my favs have been that of Krishna das.. http://www.krishnadasmusic.com/heart_wide_world.htm
Beautiful bhajans and ..he is associated with a wondergful Guru too ..Neem Karoli Baba ..doesn’t it sound so intriguing… .. …Will be exploring on him ..and update in another blog
